I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science degree. I discerned a call to pastoral ministry following a long career in technical writing. This led to Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Austin, TX, and a Master of Divinity degree in 2010. My ministry has taken me to many interesting places in the U.S.: as a mission volunteer at Menaul School in Albuquerque, NM; as a chaplain intern at Alexian Village continuing care in Milwaukee, WI; as a year-long pastoral intern in Alderson and Lewisburg, WV, and as a chaplain resident at Emanuel Hospital in Portland, OR. I was called to Central Presbyterian and Cascade Manor (as Pastoral Care Coordinator) in June 2011 in Eugene, OR, and ordained into ministry that July. My main focus has been providing pastoral care to our homebound and hospitalized, as well as equipping the congregation as they care for one another, grow in spirituality, and discern their call to the broader community. My goal for ministry at West Side is simple: to joyfully journey with together in ministry. I love tea, tea shops, High Tea, anything tea. I make it a practice that wherever I live, I find a teahouse where I can have a good cup of PG Tips, a scone, and lemon curd. When my mother and I have traveled together, we have had High Tea in Bath England, Victoria BC, Eugene OR, and many other places. I was very excited to have High Tea at the tea Castle, here in Lawrence, at Christmas time. Another notch on my tea belt!
